Description

Water-borne acrylate finish for interior surface treatment of humid rooms. SUPI Sauna Protection seals surfaces against moisture and dirt. Contains anti-bluestain and anti-mould agents.

Examples of use

Suitable for use on wood, wood fibre board and concrete surfaces according to instructions for use. Especially suitable for walls and ceilings (not for sauna benches) in steam, wash and dressing rooms.

Preparation
Remove all dirt and dust from surfaces. Rough surfaces can be sanded before treatment. Remove sanding dust.

Application

Application Conditions

The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air at least +5 C, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 %.

Application

Stir SUPI Sauna Protection thoroughly before and occasionally during application to ensure that the colourant/flatting agent is well-mixed in the product. Thin with water if necessary. Apply 2 coats of SUPI Sauna Protection in the direction of the grain, in the steam room only 1 coat.

Application with tinted finish

Test the product on a piece of wood to ensure that the colour of the tinted product is correct. The final colour of the surface depends on timber species, hardness of timber, its original colour, and the number of treatments. Treat the entire surface in one go to avoid overlapping; treat large panel surfaces a few boards at a time.

Coverage

8 - 12 m2/l.

Drying Time

At 23C, relative humidity of the air 50 %: Dust dry after approx. 1/2 hour. The next coat can be applied after 2-3 hours. Ready for use in approx. two days.

Cleaning of Tools

Clean tools with water. Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool Cleaner) is recommended when cleaning hardened finish from the brush.

Storage

Protect from frost.

Environmental

Empty cans should be recycled or disposed of in accordance with local regulations. Liquid waste should be destroyed according to the local regulations.
