Colour Range
Available in light colours from the Tikkurila Professional Colour Collection. Colour accuracy is not perfect.
Specifications
Preparation Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from grease, dirt, oil, wax, rust, all loose material and surface contamination. Use recommended Tikkurila products for mould removal and cleaning. Treat knots and resinous areas with Tikkurila Knotting Lacquer. Use suitable Tikkurila fillers for filling cracks, nail holes, blemishes, etc. Ensure that existing glossy, gloss painted and filled surfaces are thoroughly flatted down. Roughen aluminium, sheet metal and tiled surfaces with abrasive paper and if necessary mechanically abrade. Make sure that all surfaces are thoroughly prepared.
Application
Methods: brush, roller or spray.
For airless spray: use a 0.011” – 0.015” spray tip and thin by up to 10% with spray thinner.
Thinning: if necessary for brush and roller application thin by up to 5% with white spirit.
Painting Conditions
All surfaces to be painted must be dry, the moisture content of wood below 20%, the temperature of the air at least +5OC, and the relative humidity of the air below 80%.
Painting
Stir the paint thoroughly. Prime unpainted surfaces overall and spot prime all bare areas on previously painted surfaces with Otex Adhesion Primer.
Coverage
8-10 m2/litre per coat. Wet-film thickness approximately 100-125 μm per coat, dry-film approximately 50-70 μm per coat. Actual spreading rates will depend upon many factors including texture, porosity, moisture content of the substrate and method of application.
Drying Times
At 23OC and 50% relative humidity of the air: normally dust-dry after one hour and recoatable after 24 hours. Low temperatures and high humidity will make drying times longer.
Cleaning of tools
Clean tools immediately after use with white spirit.
Environmental
Empty cans should be recycled or disposed of in accordance with local regulations. Liquid waste should be destroyed according to the local regulations.
