Description
Quick drying colourless solution containing special polymer for the treatment of knots and resinous areas on wooden surfaces. Knotting Lacquer will retard resin staining and seepage of resin gum from knots.
Examples of use
Knot and resinous areas on interior and exterior wooden surfaces prior to the application of paint coatings.

Specifications
Preparation
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from loose resin, dirt, oil, wax, all loose material and surface contamination. Treat exterior wooden surfaces with Valtti Base or an approved wood preservative prior to the application of Knotting Lacquer.
Note: Do not use Knotting Lacquer when treating timber with translucent wood finishes or wood stains.

Painting conditions
The surface to be treated must be dry, the temperature of the air at least +5 deg. C, and the relative humidity of the air below 80%.
Painting
Apply two coats of Knotting Lacquer over all knots and resinous spots to an area no greater than a quarter of an inch larger than the size of each knot or resinous spot.
Drying times
At 23 deg. C and 50% relative humidity of the air: normally dry and recoatable after 15-30 minutes.
Cleaning of tools
Clean brushes with Methylated Spirit immediately after use.
Environmental
Avoid spillage into drains, water systems and soil. Empty cans should be recycled or disposed of in accordance with local regulations. Liquid waste should be destroyed according to the local regulations for hazardous waste.
