Allford Hall Monaghan Morris asks Valtti to supply masonry paint for Barking Phase II, London
20 October 2009
Architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and Ardmore Construction had to source a masonry paint that could be applied to the balconies of Barking Phase II in the vibrant colours they required whilst also providing high levels of durability both in terms of surface protection and colour retention.
VALTTI Finngard Opaque was the specified product. Four test samples were completed on site by the main contractor Ardmore construction in order to prove that the product would cover and give an even finish once applied. They found that Finngard Opaque was easy to apply, low in V.O.C, extremely durable, and has very good opacity.
Each balcony was lined in cement board and 2 coats of Finngard opaque were applied directly to the surface no primer or undercoat was required.
The whole project was turned around in about 4 weeks from initial enquiry to supply of product - this was incredibly important as with any large building project, deadlines had to be met.
We were very pleased to be asked to cooperate on this project.
