RUCHAZIE

Location: Ruchazie Phases 1, 2 and 3 (completed over last 5 years)

Project: External recoating of existing untreated masonry.

Located on the north side of Glasgow, in the Easterhouse area, 200 flats of 2, 3 and 4 storeys were painted over five phases.

Valtti were called on to provide a long-term solution to Glasgow Housing Association who are carrying out an extensive programme of urban regeneration.

The client required a maintenance cycle of 10 to 15 years. To achieve this we used Finngard Primer S to initially stabilise the existing render, before a final application of Finngard Opaque.

Valtti Otex adhesion primer and Valtti Teho were also supplied for all timber substrates in order to bring them into the same 10 to 15 year maintenance cycles.

Glasgow Housing Association appointed us to supply high performance timber and masonry paint systems in order to achieve two aims. The first was to improve the aesthetic qualities of the area for residents and the second was to provide cost effective and reliable long-term protection for the various buildings substrates.
